    什么人做什么事

     

      GRE提高班在820日结课了,每逢结束,无论是怎样的结束,我都感到惆怅萦绕于怀。同学们依旧不等老师说完就风风火火的收拾书包,老师无奈地劝说,“你们等等嘛”。他们太匆忙了,太无情了,不懂得玩味伤感的情愫。

     

      “什么人做什么事”是GRE填空老师连盟的一大解题原则。“人傻到一定境界了,也不容易”,而ETS出题者,可以得到他这样的赞誉。为突出逻辑关联性,GRE的填空题目有这样的对应特点。CriticCriticize(批评家批评),杀人者杀人,放火者放火。看到人和对应动作,立刻选就是了。另一原则是“牛人做牛事,烂人做烂事”。道理大体同上。

     

      我本以为这样理性而简单的思路只在题目中出现,结果不然。当我体味着“Natsukasha”(连老师常说的“令人愉悦的忧伤”,我更喜欢援引徐志摩“甜蜜的忧愁”来翻译),搭乘公共汽车211,开往中大时,赫然听到“下车的乘客请从后门下车”,心头一惊。这正应合了“什么人做什么事”,当听到“下车的乘客”时,“请下车”三个字呼之欲出,仿佛下车的乘客不下车确实就无所适从了。逻辑处处适用。

     

      什么人做什么事,那“人”做什么呢?人做事。这也很合逻辑,把“什么”这个修饰语去掉,原句生下来的部分恰恰就是“人做事”。当然,闲人做闲事,我向来不喜欢在文字中附加道德成分,不鼓励勤奋等美德。但我以为,什么人做什么事,重点不在于做什么事,而在于是什么人。有些人生来就是大哥,即便他暂时仍是小弟,有些人生来就是小弟,即便被认作大哥。

     

      还是什么人做什么事。
